The Covid-19 pandemic of 2020/2021 meant that many people were suffering from work, housing and food insecurities. Since our own projects weren't in need of their budgeted funds this year the board decided to allocate those funds to organizations in the community that would help families dealing with food insecurity.
You know what a library is right? and you know what sheet music is right? You know how expensive sheet music can be right? .... Well if you didn't you now do. :)

On Tuesday, June 6th at the Cedar Hill Golf Course, the Kiwanis Club of Victoria hosted its 44th Annual Student Recognition lunch. The lunch was started in 1974 by current member Ray Goldsworthy, who hosted the luncheon for 32 years taken over by the current host Past President, Paul DeGagne. We were joined by 42 students from Victoria High Schools to celebrate their contributions to their school, local and global communities. The School Board was represented by Vice-Chair of the Greater Victoria School Board, Tom Ferris and Greg Kitchen, Associate Superintendent, Greg Kitchen.
The Club was chartered on January 11, 1988 with an initial 27 members. Our current Honorary Member Mickey Stevens, then a member of the former Kiwanis Club of Cordova Bay, was instrumental in the Chartering process. The Cordova Bay Club was the initial sponsor of the Key Club. When the Cordova Bay Club was dissolved in 1992, the Kiwanis Club of Sidney & Peninsula took on sponsorship of the Claremont Key Club until 2008.
